Mount Khustup

The mountain range is located in the south of Armenia, in the eastern part of Syunik province, 10 km southwest of the city of Kapan.

It includes the Katar and Khustup mountain ranges. It starts from the northern part of the Katar mountain range, from the Giratagh mountain pass, crosses the Voghji River and joins the Khustup mountain range, then bends in a southeasterly direction to reach the confluence of the Shikahogh and Tsav rivers.

Hundreds of springs and streams emerge from the melting snow on the mountain, from which the Vachagan River is formed.

Since April 2005, the remains of the great Armenian military leader Garegin Nzhdeh have been buried on the slopes of Khustup Mountain.
