Meghri Pokr Tagh

Today, 65 families live in this historical part of Meghri. Many of the residents have renovated their houses, as a result of which the neighborhood’s appearance has changed. However, even in this state, the classic designs of mainly wooden, latticed and arched windows and doors are visible. Inside the houses there are fireplaces and wooden ceilings. The Izmirlian Foundation has initiated the implementation of the “Revival of Meghri’s  Pokr Tagh” program, the goal of which is to restore and use the local cultural heritage, thereby contributing to the stimulation of the city’s economic activity.
