St. John the Baptist Church
St. John the Baptist Church is an Armenian Apostolic church. The frescoes are mainly biblical and belong to the Naghash Hovnatan school. The church has exceptional frescoes from the 18th-19th centuries. In 2016, the 18th-19th century frescoes were restored and strengthened with funds raised by the US Ambassadors’ Foundation for the Preservation of Cultural Assets. On October 2, 2022, the relic of St. John the Baptist was brought to the Meghri community, on which occasion a blessing ceremony was performed and a sacred liturgy was served in the church of the same name.
