Goris Handmade
The “Goris Handmade” social enterprise was established by the initiative of the Women’s Development “Resource Center” foundation in the Goris community, with the aim of creating job opportunities for women in difficult life situations, thus contributing to the economic development of the community. Through this initiative, waste wool is procured from local farmers and processed into quality products that meet market demand.
Focusing on reviving Armenian handicrafts and weaving traditions, women at Goris Handmade are make rugs, carpets and handwoven textile from natural wool and develop a range of attractive and quality wool products and home accessories and handmade souvenirs combining traditional ornaments with modern design.
In 2020, the enterprise established a new workshop in the Verishen village of Goris community, where master classes, tours in the workshop are organized to familiarize visitors with traditional and new wool processing techniques and the process of Armenian rug and textile production.
"The cultural center of French speakers of Goris" NGO
“The cultural center of French speakers of Goris” NGO was founded by the cooperation of Vienne/France/-Goris sister cities and joint efforts of SPFA.The center brings together French-speaking young people, provides constant communication with foreigners, organizes cultural and educational programs in Armenia and outside Armenia.
A camp for French-speaking people operates in the French-speaking summer school, where 80 French-lovers spend their days. The Social Enterprise “Taraz” sewing workshop operates next to the center.
GO CENTER for Language and Skills
We provide qualitatively different instruction of the English. The courses are based on the direct communicative method. We also provide translation services and tour-guide services to different sights of Syunik.
